Hélène Turbé was brought up in France, in a little West island called Ile d’Yeu.
Very young, she was fascinated by illustrations in children’s books, her mother’s haberdashery and carving wood.
After working 10 years in Paris as a producer Manager in the media industry, in 1998, she moved out to London and joined London Metropolitan University to study Jewellery. Since graduating with a first class honour degree in 2004, Hélène continues to work passionately in her studio.
Passionate about the handcrafting process, Hélène’s unique pieces are suffused with intensively repeated details. Her inspiration is drawn from the ornate allure of jewellery dating from Byzantine and Victorian eras. She uses decorative filigree technique and the detailed nature of her work creates an intimacy with each of her pieces. Her work is further enhanced by the use of coloured gemstones and pearls, each set in and delicate array of gold. The idea of passing on heirlooms underpins her concepts.
Hélène is an accomplished handmade maker artist, who creates beautiful and distinguished jewellery. Each model is created with exceptional care in her West London studio.
